Eva Green has revealed that she had no idea Marvel fans were touting her as Nightmare for the upcoming Doctor Strange 2.
Ever since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was announced last summer, fans have been speculating who the villain in the film would be. It’s been known that Scarlett Witch would be teaming up Doctor Strange but who they would be fighting up against has remained a mystery. For hypothetical villains to join the Doctor Strange sequel, Eva Green starring as Nightmare has been at the top of nearly every list.
Despite tons of fan art running rampant in the wild, Eva Green has no idea that fans had her in the running as Nightmare. When asked by Total Film if she had met Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege, Eva Green responded with a resounding ‘no.”
“Me? No! Not that I know of. Not at all, I like the humour in them. I saw the trailer for Black Widow.. I’d like to see that one.”
To Eva Green’s credit, almost every actor with a notable filmography is speculated as someone who will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That being said, Eva Green would have genuinely been an interesting choice for Nightmare, who is seen in the comics as a male. Eva Green previously received a considerable amount of praise for starring as the villain in 300: Rise of an Empire.
