Ezra Miller’s ‘The Flash’ Was Set To Begin Pre-Production Next Month

Ezra Miller’s The Flash was set to begin pre-production next month but that no longer seems to be the case.

The solo The Flash film has been a long-time coming and has switched numerous directors during its development stage. With a director in place with IT helmer Andy Muschietti and Ezra Miller signed on to reprise his role as the Scarlet Speedster, all was set in place for The Flash.

However, with the coronavirus suspending almost every film and television project, and delaying every major release, it appears that the outbreak may be responsible for The Flash’s pre-production delay. According to Euince Huthart, the stunt coordinator for the Ezra Miller project, The Flash was set to begin pre-production at the end of April.

“The project I was due to start is The Flash. I was supposed to start at about the end of April, beginning of May, I’m not sure what’s happening now with that.”

Of course, the stunt coordinator doesn’t explicitly mention the coronavirus as the reason for The Flash’s postponement, but it does seem to be the obvious reason. The Ezra Miller film is currently set to hit cinemas in 2022 but with Hollywood currently on hold due to the outbreak, it’s safe to say that the solo The Flash film will be delayed.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, Ezra Miller’s The Flash film will be inspired by the Flashpoint storyline. For those unaware, the Flashpoint storyline in the comics followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe.

Ezra Miller’s The Flash was last seen in Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Ezra Miller’s The Flash as it develops!
