The Falcon and The Winter Soldier director Kari Skogland touched on about where audiences will see Julia Louis-Dreyfus next.

It’s been a big week for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier fans, as Anthony Mackie was finally unveiled as the next Captain America before Marvel Studios announced that Captain America 4 is in the works. And in a recent interview with The Playlist, Kari Skogland discussed the monumental costume, before briefly touching on Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

“The whole place went silent. Just to see this iconic costume symbolizing this show we’re making and where we’re taking the world, not just the MCU but the fanbase at large, a Black man carrying the shield. And watching Anthony come on set, with his wonderful charm and humor, was a pinch-me moment for sure.”

It’s fair to say that most fans were surprised to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus show up in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier as she offered a helping hand to John Walker, eventually giving him the role of U.S. Agent in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But she was originally supposed to debut in Black Widow, and director Kari Skogland briefly explained that she worked with Cate Shortland on the character. It’ll definitely be interesting to see what Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ mysterious character has in store for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Cate [Shortland] and I talked back and forth about Valentina, here and there,”
