Disney Plus’ latest series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has topped Nielsen’s streaming charts for the first time.

Back in November of 2019, Disney released its own streaming service, Disney Plus which proved to be the first real competition that Netflix had in the industry. Thanks to early hits like The Mandalorian and a subscription base that grew faster than anyone anticipated, the new platform quickly proved that it was around to stay. Now the service’s latest hit, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier once again shows that it can rival the streaming titan.

During the week of April 12-18, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier released the fifth of its six episodes, titled Truth. That week the show ended up topping Nielsen’s streaming charts with 855 million minutes viewed. The system itself counts views as a user that watches two minutes or more of a show or film on a streaming service. So far this is only the second time a Disney Plus program has topped the Nielsen chart with the first being the 2020 Pixar film, Soul.
