With reboots and sequels of popular 1980’s franchises happening constantly, fans now want a fourth installment of the Back to the Future franchise.
On Change.org, a user by the name of Mason Carr created the Back to the Future petition. In the description, he points other films like Ghostbusters are getting sequels and that it’s time for another Back to the Future film to happen. The purpose of the petition is to show Universal Pictures and parent company Comcast that the fans want a sequel to happen and hopefully get the ball rolling on such a film.
You can see the full description for the Back to the Future petition below:
It has been almost 30 years since the last Back To The Future movie came out, and almost 35 years since the first movie came out. Like how Ghostbusters is getting a new sequel next year that is gonna be connected to the original films, could we see this happen for Back To The Future? Robert Zemeckis, the director of the Back To The Future franchise said the 4th movie can’t be done. but Christopher Lloyd said that he wants to see a new sequel. Should Universal Pictures from back the Back To The Future franchise for one more movie? i bet alot of die hard fans of the franchise want a 4th film as well. and with the return of the DMC DeLorean company, that might increase the chances of a 4th film happening. If you want a 4th Back To The Future movie, just sign and support this petition and we might see it happen.
The last Back to the Future film, Back to the Future III, was released in 1990. In it, Marty McFly, (Michael J. Fox), goes back to the old west to rescue Doc Brown, (Christopher Lloyd), who was sent back accidentally after lightning struck the DeLorean. At the end of the film, Doc Brown had his own family and left Marty and his girlfriend, Jennifer Parker, (Elisabeth Shue), with the knowledge that, despite what was seen in Back to the Future II, their own futures hadn’t been written yet, ending the series on an optimistic note. But it seems that some fans want one more installment to the franchise.
