When the news dropped that Gabriel Luna would be featuring as Ghost Rider in Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, the internet was awash with a mix of reactions ranging anywhere from criticism, anticipation and excitement.
With Marvel deciding to steer away from the older takes on the character such as Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch and instead opt for the latest character to use the Ghost Rider title, Robbie Reyes, alongside the fact the character would be joining on to an already existing show as opposed to getting his own one, fans were understandably nervous of the announcement.
However, last night the public got their first chance to experience Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D‘s Ghost Rider first hand, and the reactions were generally positive, to say the least, with many applauding Gabriel Luna’s performance, as well as, the CGI work on the character.

To top it off, Ghost Rider’s introduction has even gained approval from a familiar face. Brett Dalton who portrayed Grant Ward on the show tweeted this:

So, if the reactions stay this positive it seems this could be a turning point for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The show has been very good at adapting to new storylines over the span of its three seasons so far and it looks like they’re off to a flying start with Season 4’s brand new take on Ghost Rider.
Season 4 of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
