Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be out on Blu-Ray and DVD very soon. It’s been revealed that there are eleven deleted scenes from the special edition discs.
Tina and her sister, Queenie, sing their Ilvermorny School anthem. This Fantastic Beasts scene was probably cut for time, and is all around unnecessary to the overall plot. However, it’s still fun to watch because it comes right after Queenie and Newt Scamander get into a light banter over which is the better school.
Newt obviously thinks that Hogwarts is the better, more superior school, while Queenie defends Ilvermorny. And this is where she and Tina come in to sing about their school. All the while Jacob, the No-Maj, looks on in awe and wishes he were a wizard.
Alison Sudol, who portrays Queenie, wrote the song herself. Check out the scene from the Harry Potter prequel here.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is out on Blu-Ray and DVD on March 28.
