‘The Fate Of The Furious’ Director Says Film Is ‘Shift’ In Franchise

Vin Diesel Fast and Furious 10

In just a few day, The Fate of the Furious speeds into theaters with more high-octane action. The film, the eighth in the franchise, is said to be the start of a new trilogy.

The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray says there’s definitely more to the story and “Fast 8” marks a shift in the franchise.

I think that when you watch the film, you understand that this is different, and hopefully it leaves you understanding that there’s more to the saga beyond eight. I definitely want people to kind of come in really focused on being entertained and stimulated and just entertained across the board with this film, but also to recognize that there’s somewhat of a shift in the franchise and the saga and that there’s more story left. And I think that there is, and you’ll see that when you watch this movie.

Confident that the films will continue, the ninth and tenth installments have already been scheduled for April 2019 and April 2021, respectively.

The Fate of the Furious stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Chris Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Natalie Emmanuel, Lucas Black, Kristofer Hijvu, with Kurt Russel, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren.

The Fate of the Furious hits theaters this Friday, April 14.
