The upcoming 8th installment of the Fast franchise, The Fate of the Furious has topped social media buzz for the second week in a row according to media-measurement firm comScore and its PreAct service, Variety reports.
Fast 8 took the top spot for the week of March 13-19, generating 41,000 new conversations, tallying a total of 947,000 conversations ahead of the release.
The film stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Chris Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Natalie Emmanuel, Lucas Black, Kristofer Hijvu, with Kurt Russel, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren. Here’s the official synopsis:

Coming in second place was Despicable Me 3 which generated 25,400 new conversations. Universal revealed a brand new poster for the film last week as well as the second trailer which ran before audiences at Beauty and the Beast this weekend.

The upcoming Power Rangers reboot took third place generating 24,900 new conversations. Lionsgate released several clips as well as new images and promotional art from the upcoming film.

Coming in just under Power Rangers at fourth place was the live-action adaptation of the classic anime Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson which generated 24,300 new conversations. In addition to the Japanese premiere on March 17, Paramount also released several featurettes and a batch of TV spots for the upcoming film.

In fifth place was Wonder Woman, the fourth installment to the DCEU which stars Gal Gadot as the titular superheroine. The film generated 19,000 new conversations last week after Warner Bros. dropped another incredible trailer for the film at the Kids Choice Awards.
