‘Ghostbusters 2020’ Set Video Reveals A Major Change To The Ecto-1

A brand video from the set of Ghostbusters 2020 reveals the new character played by Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard will indeed take the wheel of the iconic Ecto-1, which will feature a major change when it returns to the silver screen next year.

Production on the long-awaited sequel to the original Ghostbusters films is now underway. Jason Reitman is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Poltergeist remake director Gil Kena. While Reitman himself previously revealed the Ecto-1 on set after the classic Ghostbusters vehicle was revealed in a teaser for the new film, a new video reveals our first look at the ectomobile back in action. The new set video also reveals just who might be driving the Ecto-1 in the film.

Ghostbusters 2020 features Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard in the lead role, along with McKenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, Paul Rudd, and Carrie Coon rounding out the cast. The film will be a direct continuation of the first two films in the franchise. Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson are also expected to return in some capacity. But based on a new set video, it seems Finn Wolfhard’s character is poised to drive the Ecto-1 in the new film. The set video reveals what appears to be a stuntman for the 16-year-old actor behind the wheel of the Ecto-1 in action. Eagle-eyed fans have also noticed one major change to the resurrected vehicle. As seen in the set photos, the Ecto-1 can be seen featuring suicide doors for the new film. You can check it out below.
