We recently got our first official look at Idris Elba as Roland Deschain and Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black in Nikolaj Arcel’s feature film adaptation of The Dark Tower, but one thing that many fans have been wondering about is when the first footage from the upcoming movie will finally be released. If you happen to be one of those fans, then we’ve got some pretty good news for you.

According to the programming highlights of Entertainment Weekly’s Pop Fest, a special event taking place October 29-30, the first official footage from The Dark Tower will be unveiled sometime during the festival. We’re not sure if that footage will be a teaser trailer or just a clip, but we’ll probably know more a few days before the event. For now, feel free to sound-off your thoughts on the news in the comment section.

The Dark Tower series tells the story of Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, who is traveling southeast across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower. Located in the fey region of End-World, amid a sea of singing red roses, the Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum. It is the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone, or something, is using the evil technology of the Great Old Ones to destroy it.

Directed by Nikolaj Arcel and starring Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Taylor, Katheryn Winnick, Jackie Earle Haley, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Michael Barbieri and Claudia Kim, The Dark Tower hits theaters on February 17, 2017. Are you excited?
