Doom Patrol Negative Man Matt Boomer

After a recent casting announcement, audiences were given what could be our first look at Negative Man in the upcoming Doom Patrol series.

Earlier today it was revealed that actor Matt Bomer would take on the role of Negative Man for the live action Doom Patrol series. The news came during a screening of the Titans show where the actor was revealed. The actor himself was dressed in what appeared to be a jumpsuit with what appeared to be a blue screen set behind him. Beside him was the image of the character himself.

Bomer is perhaps best known for his role in the USA series, White Collar, where he portrayed criminal Neal Caffrey. He is currently expected to portray the character in flashback scenes as well as provide the voice of the character in present scenes. The show is expected to debut sometime in 2019.

What do you all make of this news? Do you like the look that is currently being promoted or should they need to go through a few more revisions? Let us know what you think in the comments below?

The series hails from mega-producer Greg Berlanti and has landed a 13-episode, straight-to-series order at DC Universe. Jeremy Carver is writing the series and executive producing alongside Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns. Here’s the official synopsis:

DOOM PATROL IS A REIMAGINING OF ONE OF DC’S MOST BELOVED GROUP OF OUTCAST SUPERHEROES: ROBOTMAN, NEGATIVE MAN, ELASTI-GIRL AND CRAZY JANE AND LED BY MODERN-DAY MAD SCIENTIST DR. NILES CAULDER (THE CHIEF). THE DOOM PATROL’S MEMBERS EACH SUFFERED ACCIDENTS THAT GAVE THEM SUPERHUMAN ABILITIES — BUT ALSO LEFT THEM SCARRED AND DISFIGURED. TRAUMATIZED AND DOWNTRODDEN, THE TEAM FOUND PURPOSE THROUGH THE CHIEF, WHO BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER TO INVESTIGATE THE WEIRDEST PHENOMENA IN EXISTENCE — AND TO PROTECT EARTH FROM WHAT THEY FIND. PART SUPPORT GROUP, PART SUPERHERO TEAM, THE DOOM PATROL IS A BAND OF SUPER-POWERED FREAKS WHO FIGHT FOR A WORLD THAT WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. THE DRAMA PICKS UP AFTER THE EVENTS OF TITANS— WHICH IS ALSO IN THE WORKS AT DC UNIVERSE AND PRODUCED BY BERLANTI — DOOM PATROL WILL FIND THE RELUCTANT HEROES IN A PLACE THEY NEVER EXPECTED TO BE, CALLED TO ACTION BY CYBORG, WHO COMES TO THEM WITH A MISSION HARD TO REFUSE, BUT WITH A WARNING THAT IS HARD TO IGNORE: THEIR LIVES WILL NEVER, EVER BE THE SAME.

Doom Patrol is expected to debut in 2019.
