It looks like The Flash movie has found its Henry Allen. According to Variety, Watchmen star Billy Crudup is in talks to play Barry Allen’s father in the big screen adaptation of The Flash, which will be directed by Dope helmer Rick Famuyiwa.

Ezra Miller, who’s currently shooting Justice League in London, will reprise his role as the Fastest Man Alive, while Kiersey Clemons will play Iris West. Despite previous reports that the movie will begin filming next year, Variety reveals that the project is actually expected to kick off production later this year.

As previously reported, Seth Grahame-Smith wrote the film’s script, based on a treatment by The LEGO Movie helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Smith was also initially attached to direct the movie, but he left the project over “creative differences.”

Henry Allen is currently being portrayed by John Wesley Shipp on The CW’s small screen take on The Flash. His character will return in the upcoming season three premiere, which is titled “Flashpoint.”
