Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe (Precious,ย American Horror Story) reveals that sheโ€™d be up for a role in a superhero movie, specifically namingย Suicide Squadโ€˜s Amanda Waller as an example sheโ€™d like to play if that role is ever recast. She also made a pair of joking suggestions at two iconic characters she could take a shot at.

Sidibe recently spoke with Variety, who briefly talked to her about superhero movies and if she would be interested in joining one eventually. The actress seems to be a little more inclined to the DC Comics Universe than the Marvel Universe, if her serious suggestion and her two non-serious ones (Superman and Batman) are of any indication:

โ€œI really like Amanda Waller. Sheโ€™s a lawyer but she can clearly stretch herselfโ€ฆ also, I want to fly, so why canโ€™t I play Superman? Batman doesnโ€™t have any superpowers. Heโ€™s not an alien, heโ€™s a straight up human who happens to be rich. Heโ€™s like Super Privileged Man. Heโ€™s like White Privilege Man. But heโ€™s got all these tools, and a super dark sense of being. Heโ€™s such a creep, and I feel Iโ€™m Batman because Iโ€™m a creep.โ€

Sidibe was more or less having a lot of fun with her answers, but it does seem like sheโ€™d have the ability to take on the role of Amanda Waller. That being said, itโ€™s not likely that Viola Davis would part with the role anytime soon. Perhaps Sidibe would have an easier shot at it through one of DCโ€™s television properties.
