The cast of the John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina continues to grow with the addition of Gabriel Byrne.
Deadline has officially announced that Gabriel Byrne is joining the John Wick universe with Ballerina. Byrne is a Golden Globe winner who has starred in more than 70 films and various television productions. He most was most recently seen in Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, playing Enzo Ferrari.
Directed by Len Wiseman, Ballerina revolves around a deadly woman who uses her skills to get on revenge on the hitmen who killed her family. The screenplay of the John Wick spin-off comes from Shay Hatten, the writer behind Parabellum and Army of the Dead.
Ana de Armas spearheads the cast of Ballerina, joined by John Wick veterans Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick and Anjelica Huston, as well as franchise newcomer Norman Reedus. Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski are producing the movie, with Brady Fujikawa and Chelsea Kujawa overseeing it for Lionsgate. Production is currently underway.

While Ballerina does not yet have a release date, John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 24, 2023. Reeves and McShane lead the Chapter 4 cast, which also includes Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Clancy Brown, Marko Zaror, Scott Adkins, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson and Rina Sawayama.
In addition to Ballerina and John Wick: Chapter 4, Lionsgate is also working on The Continental, a spin-off series that explores the origins of Ian McShane’s Winston Scott. Colin Woodell is playing Winston, with a supporting cast that includes Ayomide Adegun, Peter Greene, Mel Gibson, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada and Nhung Kate. The series is set to premiere on Peacock in 2023.
