Wonder Woman 1984 gets an interesting rating from CinemaScore after fans and critics were divided over the recent Gal Gadot sequel.

It’s fair to say that reactions to Wonder Woman 1984 have been incredibly polarizing over the last few days – while some praised the film’s hopeful tone in a time where we need all the light-hearted inspiration we can get, others slammed the poorly-executed finale. Heroic Hollywood’s own Nathaniel Brail criticized Pedro Pascal’s over the top performance as Maxwell Lord, but pointed out that it’s easy to have fun watching the Gal Gadot sequel.

Now that the film has debuted on HBO Max in the U.S., CinemaScore has revealed that audiences were impressed with Wonder Woman 1984, but clearly it isn’t the best that the DC Extended Universe has to offer. The film has been given a B+ score, which given surprisingly divisive reaction online is unexpected. With a third film greenlit for Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins, it’ll be interesting to see how Warner Bros. take the criticism into consideration.

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, the film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.

Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled to be released on December 25 in theaters and on HBO Max. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the DC Extended Universe and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content!
