Game of Thrones showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff already revealed that they’ll be hiding out with their phones off until after the series finale airs tonight.
At this point in time, you’ve probably heard about all the fuss that the final season of Game of Thrones is creating on the internet. Season eight has been so disappointing for some fans, that even an online petition has been created for HBO to remake the final season with an intent to improve the show’s writing.
Yesterday we reported that Game of Thrones producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff declared that, even though they’ve poured their hearts and minds into giving a satisfying conclusion to the hit fantasy series, there’s a strong chance that a big part of the fandom will not like how everything ultimately ends up. That’s why the pair told Entertainment Weekly they will be hiding out until after the season finale. D.B. Weiss told the media outlet they’ll be at an undisclosed location to avoid angry fans:
“We’ll [be] in an undisclosed location, turning off our phones and opening various bottles.”
Bear in mind that Benioff an Weiss are creating a finale for the A Song Of Fire And Ice book series from George R.R. Martin who has yet to publish the last two books of his story. They borrowed heavily from the books to make Game of Thrones, making practical changes here and there, but the conclusion of the show was basically done by them only taking pointers from Martin along the way.

David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill have written the final six episodes which have been directed by David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik, with Benioff and Weiss helming the series finale. Benioff and Weiss returned to executive produce the final season alongside Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield, with Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin serving as co-executive producers.
