‘Game Of Thrones’ Will Return in July, Claims Liam Cunningham

Game of Thrones HBO

It’s been known for a while that Game Of Thrones Season 7 will be airing a bit later than usual on HBO, but no official return window was set beyond a promise that the show’s penultimate season would arrive in at some point in the summer. Now, Liam Cunningham (who plays the fan-favorite Ser Davos Seaworth) has given us a clearer picture by claiming that the series will make its return this July.

In a recent interview with The Irish Independent, Liam Cunningham took a moment to explain when the penultimate and final seasons are going to return.

“I’ve been disappointing various people around the world because [Game Of Thrones Season 7] was meant to come out in April. It’s July now, I think. There’s going to be a launch and something special happening this year for the premiere. The bad news is, there will only be seven episodes and the final season starts again as far as I know in September.”

Those of you who were hoping that Game Of Thrones Season 8 would air a bit closer to Spring are probably a little disappointed right now, but it’s not all that surprising considering that the show’s production cycle was already delayed. At least Westworld Season 2 should should tide HBO fans over during the wait for the final season.
