Moon Knight star Gaspard Ulliel has tragically passed away at the age of 37 after a skiing accident.
The death of renowned French actor Gaspard Ulliel, best known for starring in Hannibal Rising and Marvel Studios’ upcoming Moon Knight, has been confirmed by AFP. According to The Associated Press, the actor was skiing in the Savoie area of the Alps. There, he collided with another skier on the slopes, which resulted in serious brain trauma after being hospitalized.
One of France’s most popular talents, Gaspard Ulliel was gaining considerable traction stateside. Ulliel’s most notable performance was in Xavier Dolan’s It’s Only the End of the World, which won him a César- France’s most prolific cinematic award. The star made his English debut as a young Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising.
Gaspard Ulliel’s next performance will be in Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight, which recently debuted its first trailer. Ulliel was tapped to play Midnight Man, one of Moon Knight’s most popular villains. Marvel Studios hasn’t released an official statement at the time of writing.

“A new globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt.”
Written by Jeremy Slater the series stars Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight and Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow. The series was directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige serving as an Executive Producer.
