Geoff Johns Reveals A ‘New Version’ Of Deathstroke Is Coming To ‘Titans’

At the DC Universe New York Comic-Con panel, Geoff Johns revealed a new version of Deathstroke is coming to an upcoming season of Titans.

News on the future seasons of Titans continues to come out of New York Comic-Con ahead of the series premiere next week. At the world premiere on Wednesday, it was revealed the series has already been renewed for a second season with plans for three so far. Johns teased at San Diego Comic-Con this year Lex Luthor and Superboy will eventually appear in the series and at Thursday’s New York Comic-Con panel, he revealed a “new version” of Deathstroke is also set to appear in a future season.

Deathstroke has appeared prominently in other DC shows in the past like the original Teen Titans series and Arrow; played by Ron Perlman and Manu Bennett respectively. The character has also appeared on the big screen during the end-credits scene of Justice League, where he was portrayed by Joe Manganiello. Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

The series stars Brenton Thwaites as Richard “Dick” Grayson / Robin, Anna Diop as Koriand’r / Starfire, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth / Raven, and Ryan Potter as Garfield “Gar” Logan / Beast Boy.

Titans premieres Friday, October 12 on DC Universe.
