Sounds Like ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ May Actually Be Casting Ghost Rider For Next Season

But it might not be the one that you’re expecting. Earlier this month we got our first look at Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. artwork covering the lightrail and it featured some very interesting artwork. This fiery chain featured led some to speculate the series might be introducing Ghost Rider into the Marvel Cinematic Universe while many just assumed that it had to do with the character Hellfire, who appeared in the back half of last season.

However, Marvel clearly knew what speculation would emerge upon debuting that artwork and it seems a bit odd that they would dish out that much cash promoting a character that didn’t really do all that much last time around. Additionally, a new casting notice has hit via TV Line and the characters described sound very similar to the recent incarnation of the character in the comics.

“LMDs are happening. Specifically, the ABC series at this time is looking to cast the recurring role of Aida, a “very attractive” robot (because after all, why make a homely one?) who moves about quite naturally but speaks a bit formally, like Iron Man’s Jarvis. Also to be introduced in Season 4: a pair of Latino brothers, one of whom is always the most dangerous person in the room, the other paralyzed in a wheelchair.”

The two Latino brothers sound very similar to that of  Robbie and Gabe Reyes, who were recently featured in the 2014 Marvel NOW! Ghost Rider series. I mean, I can’t think of any other pair of Latino brothers in the comics which one happens to be disabled. There’s none that I can think of off the top of my head. But we’re just going to have to wait a few weeks and find out what exactly the showrunners have up their sleeve when the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel goes down at San Diego Comic-Con.

Additionally, I wouldn’t be fully surprised if John Ridley’s secret Marvel project we’ve yet to get any word on is actually a Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider series and there’s a “backdoor pilot” situation going on here. What do you think about these possibilities? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
