Weta Workshop’s Lee may have spoiled the return of an iconic villain in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
During the climax of the first Ghostbusters film, audiences were introduced to iconic Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, a fictional mascot that served as the Destructor Form of Gozer. Now, Weta Workshop’s Lee may have revealed that the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man will return in Ghostbuster: Afterlife during an interview with Rad Years at Toy Fair 2020.
While discussing Weta Workshop’s expanding license of toys, Lee revealed that Ghostbusters: Afterlife director Jason Reitman visited the stand to discuss a future sculpt. While Lee initially noted that he wasn’t supposed to talk about it, he eventually revealed that the figure would involve little versions of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man trying to destroy a proton pack:
“So we had Jason Reitman come by the stand yesterday… the director of the new movie. And then we had a chat to him… he wants us to do quite a big sculpt… what we’re thinking of doing at this stage is a big Proton Pack, with all the little Stay Pufts running around on it, trying to destroy it.”
