Thor & Rocket Battle Giant Serpents In Awesome ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Concept Art

Thor Avengers: Infinity War

According to a new piece of awesome concept art, Avengers: Infinity War almost had three of its heroes battle a pair of giant snakes.

Avengers: Infinity War was jam-packed with unique characters, fantastic locations, and incredible otherworldly creatures. In the film, the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were forced to team up to take down Thanos, the Black Order, and in the third act were faced with a hoard of hungry aliens. It turns out that some of the heroes almost faced an even larger threat, more so in size than anything.

Marvel Studios concept illustrator Rodney Fuentebella recently posted an interesting piece of Avengers: Infinity War via his Instagram account. The concept art features Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel) teaming up against a duo of giant serpents. Check out the concept art in the post below.

The image has caused fans to wonder what the context of the giant snakes was because they definitely did not appear in the final cut of Avengers: Infinity War. Given the trio’s story in the film, it’s possible that they had to battle the monsters upon arriving at Nidavellir, but no context has been revealed by Fuentebella just yet. Some fans have theorized that it could be an interpretation of the Midgard Serpent, but given that it’s more than one snake that theory appears to be not likely.
