Production on the Godzilla sequel is currently underway and with the promise of several new Kaiji making their debut in the MonsterVerse, fans can probably expect chaos and destruction to follow their arrival. Now, new set photos taken by Gormaru Island offer fans a preview of the mayhem that the monsters will leave in their wake.
The group also provided a description of the shoot:
“According to bystanders and witnesses, there were a lot of thunderous noises, booms, and monster sounds emitting around the location. With cars turned over, flames roaring, and with debris scattered everywhere. And clearly from the glimpses of the set, it must have been quite the night!
Also from a Denver Comic Con Millie Bobby Brown panel, Millie Bobby Brown herself was on set for filming during night shoot. Also according to her; she and the director love pulling pranks and have joined forces in pranking the cast. Though their next target this week is being kept secret ;) Hahah.”

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
The film stars Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Zhang Ziyi, Anthony Ramos, Ken Watanabe, Randy Havens, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, Thomas Middleditch, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins and Charles Dance.
Godzilla 2 will be released in theaters on March 22, 2019.

10 ‘Godzilla’ Kaiju That Need To Be In The MonsterVerse
With both 2014’s Godzilla and this year’s Kong: Skull Island managing to outperform expectations, the MonsterVerse from Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers is off to a good start. That being said, there’s room for growth amongst the roster of kaiju – thus far, only five classic kaiju have been confirmed to exist in the MonsterVerse: Godzilla, King Kong, Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah, and of those, we’ve only seen two of them in action. Should the series continue to succeed, the setting’s going to need more than original monsters like the M.U.T.O. and the Skullcrawlers – it will need to pull in some fan-favorite monsters from the classic creature features to keep things interesting. Here are ten of Toho’s best kaiju that would make fine additions to the MonsterVerse, with explanations of who they are and why they need to be a part of the setting.
