A Gotham Knights TV series is in the works at The CW from several Batwoman writers.

The CW has been carefully adding more and more elements of the Batman universe over the years. The network notably took a big leap when a Batwoman series was announced, which is in its third season. The CW is now looking to add a Gotham Knights series to its DC lineup.

Batwoman writers Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux, and Chad Fiveash are developing the Gotham Knights show with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden also on board as executive producers. The upcoming series will be separate from both Batwoman and the upcoming Gotham Knights video game from Warner Bros. Montreal. Here is the premise of the show:

“In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights.”

Here is the synopsis for the most recent episode of Batwoman season three:

“DOUBLE TROUBLE – As Ryan’s (Javicia Leslie) family dynamic grows more complicated, she also finds herself in the middle of a Bat Team stand-off between Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Mary (Nicole Kang). Meanwhile, Alice (Rachel Skarsten) finds a new sidekick to do her bidding. Also starring Nick Creegan and Robin Givens. Holly Dale directed the episode written by Kelly Ota and Emily Alonso.”

The CW series stars Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, Camrus Johnson, Victoria Cartagena, Robin Givens, and Nick Creegan.
