New photos from the set of The Flash season six show Grant Gustin’s titular hero fighting the villainous speedster known as Godspeed.
The Flash season five introduced audiences to Godspeed, a villain from the future who was eventually defeated by Nora West-Allen, the daughter of Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen and Candice Patton’s Iris West. However, the events leading to the defeat of Cicada in the present resulted in Nora being erased from existence, meaning she was never there to stop Godspeed and the villain was likely successful in perfecting the formula that would make his speed powers permanent.
While the new fate of Godspeed remains a mystery, a fresh batch of photos from the set of The Flash reveal the character will be back to confront Grant Gustin’s Scarlet Speedster in the show’s highly-anticipated sixth season. Though the reason for Godspeed’s return is currently unknown, the set images indicate he will end up in a brawl with Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen that finds the villain being pinned down by the Fastest Man Alive at one point.

Godspeed is one of the main villains of The Flash: Rebirth comic book series and was an old friend of Barry Allen’s named August Heart before lighting granted him speed force powers. Heart subsequently took on the Godspeed mantle and began fatally draining the powers of other Speedsters, ultimately becoming a serial killer who sought revenge on the one who murdered his brother.
A first look at next season of The Flash is expected to premiere at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. On Saturday, July 20, the Batwoman pilot screening/Q&A will kick things off for The CW at 10:30 a.m. in Ballroom 20. In tow will be the final SDCC panel for Stephen Amell’s Arrow at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Supergirl panel at 4:15 p.m., the Black Lightning panel at 5 p.m., and Grant Gustin’s The Flash at 5:45 p.m. to round out the network’s content.
Details on the sixth season of the series are under wraps, but the creative team is said to be casting a new male villain and a “socially awkward” scientist to appear opposite Grant Gustin.
The series stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow / Killer Frost, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon / Vibe, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Jesse L. Martin as Joe West, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton, and Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny / Elongated Man
