Greg Berlanti Confirms Involvement On ’Booster Gold’ Film

One of the busiest producers in Hollywood right now is the mastermind Greg Berlanti who is running over six shows all at the same time. You have The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow on The CW, Supergirl on CBS as well as Blindspot and The Mysteries of Laura over at NBC. His upcoming comic book show Riverdale, based on Archie Comics, is looking to get a series pick-up on The CW so this is one busy man on the television screen.

Last year it had been reported that Berlanti was working with Warner Bros. Pictures on a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie which is starting to become a reality day by day. Recently, The Hollywood Reporter did a big feature on Berlanti as a show-runner and about his career that we do advice you to check out as it’s a phenomenal read.

During the interview, Berlanti was asked about if he would be interested in leading the DC Extended Universe like Kevin Feige does for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to which Berlanti said this, while also confirming that he is in fact involved with a Booster Gold film and that Zack Stentz, who wrote this week’s amazing The Flash episode, is doing the screenplay.

“Question: If Warner Bros. TV executives asked you to be the Kevin Feige — who is the creative mastermind of Marvel — of the DC Cinematic Universe, what would you say?

Answer: It’s never even really come up. Peter [Roth, president of Warner Bros. TV] knows how much I love the characters, and I like being part of this universe in any way that they’ll all allow and are interested in me being a part. That’s the truth. I’m attached to a few films [at Warner Bros.] now, and one, Booster Gold, is a DC property. Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of Flash last year, just got the job, so he’s writing the script now. I’d probably direct that, or I would want to. But I don’t see my cup as limited. I actually think some of the stuff we get to do on the TV side is richer, deeper and more like the true comic books in the sense that you’re always able to explore a new thing the next week and the stories grow wider and wider.”

Now, it remains to be seen whether or not Blue Beetle is showing up or if the film is even a Gold/Blue film at all since he referred to it only as a Booster Gold film, but the chances of Blue Beetle being a second main character, are possible.
