Back at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Greg Berlanti revealed that there is going to be a musical crossover between Supergirl and The Flash in the second half of their upcoming seasons. While it hasn’t been set 100% in what episodes that crossover will happen, Berlanti said it would most likely be episodes 13 and 14.
Since then, not much has said on the musical crossover that has many Supergirl and The Flash fans excited. In a recent interview with Indiewire, Berlanti was asked about what the progress was on the musical crossover as of right now and whether or not we will get original songs during the crossover.
“Next week we’ll have to start talking about clearing music. I have a few ideas for tone and style in my head but we’re just starting to talk about what that can be. I do want to try and get an original piece of music written. As we make a deal on that we’ll probably make some announcements on the original songs…There are some writers I’m incredibly excited to work with.”
While this might be the only musical crossover that is happening, DC TV wise, this won’t be the only heroic crossover that we are getting this season. A 4-show crossover between The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow is set to air in December with episodes 8 of the respective shows.
The Flash Season 3 is set to begin on Tuesday, October 4 with the premiere titled “Flashpoint”, while Supergirl Season 2 is set to premiere on Monday, October 10 with the premiere titled “The Adventures of Supergirl”, both respectively at 8/7c on The CW.
