‘Tis the season to be I am Groot, because you know that’s all that he can say. Or rather, all that he could say since, spoiler warning, Groot became one of Thanos’ snap victims in the conclusion of Avengers: Infinity War. Despite that, Groot, especially with his younger appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, has gone on to become one of the more marketable faces within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And that means you can plaster his face on practically anything to turn him into a literal household item.
As such, it’s no surprise that one fan took it upon themselves to take the joy of the holiday season this Christmas and blend it with Groot himself. He is, after all a tree, and chances are this might not be the first person to take it upon themselves to try this, but one fan took a poster of Groot and adorned it with Christmas ornaments. There’s even a raccoon on top of Groot, so that’s pretty much role reversal to the extreme. Have a look below.

Admittedly, given Groot’s usefulness as a tree, it’s possible that if the Guardians of the Galaxy do ever celebrate the holiday season — back when they were all alive, anyway — Groot might have been used as a Christmas tree. After all, what else is he going to do?
But what do you think of using Groot as a Christmas tree? Do you have a similar set up for your Christmas tree, if you celebrate the season? And do you think this could’ve possibly worked with just a large scale model or poster of Baby Groot from the second Guardians film? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
In the meantime, you can see Groot work with the rest of Earth’s mightiest heroes in Avengers: Infinity War, which is now available on home release.
