New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2 ‘ Footage Has Vin Diesel Speechless

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Vin Diesel

We’re still quite a few months away from the release of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. The sequel to Marvel’s popular space action-comedy is set to reunite the original cast, including Christ Pratt, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, with some new cast members coming along, like Kurt Russell as Peter Quill/Star-Lord’s father.

We have to wait until May 5, 2017 to see director James Gunn’s vision on the big screen, but the cast and crew have been filming scenes since February of this year. Vin Diesel, who will reprise his role as Groot for the film, recently shared his reaction to footage of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Diesel, known for being extremely active on his social media, posted a video of himself, along with James Gunn, reacting to some new footage of the film on his Facebook. We don’t get to see the footage, but Gunn mentions in the video that it’s essentially the footage shown at SDCC this year, but with more film footage included.

Vin Diesel is noticeably shocked in the trailer, no doubt taken aback by the quality of the new footage. Diesel turned to Facebook Live to tell his fans what he thought of the movie, saying:

“I’m blown away because…I want to see the whole movie. I want you to see the whole movie.”

Diesel even had some kind words to say about the director of the film, calling James Gunn a “genius, someone who takes a hundred plus blank pages and creates something that blows your mind.”

We still have a few months to go before we can agree or disagree with him, but Vin Diesel’s reactions to the footage is incredibly reassuring. Watch the video. Or read the official synopsis for Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

2017 will be totally OWNED by Marvel.

    May 2017: GOTG VOL. 2

    July 2017: SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING

    Nov. 2017: THOR: RAGNAROK.

All other 2017 releases (with the exception of STAR WARS 8) pales in comparison.
