‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ Funko Figure Reveals Kurt Russell’s Ego

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' director James Gunn recently released images of one of the film's new characters, Ego, in the form of collectable figures.

Kurt Russell’s role in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel was announced back in February of last year, when director James Gunn confirmed he was to play the father of Star-Lord and renowned cosmic entity from the comics, Ego the Living Planet. Clearly possessing dramatic titles runs in the family.

However, Russell won’t be going the way of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, simply voicing his non-human Guardians Of The Galaxy character or even providing motion capture; it was revealed at last summer’s San Diego Comic-Con that Ego would be taking a human shape, at least for this movie.

Now, we seem to have further confirmation of this, which comes in the form of merchandise – namely, the Dorbz and Funko action figurines that James Gunn posted about on his Twitter and Instagram feeds. They certainly resemble Kurt Russell, at least for now. There’s no telling how the character will change during Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 itself, or even in future sequels. A sentient planet would be a great advantage against Thanos, after all! Check out the posts below!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Sean Gunn, Elizabeth Debicki and Kurt Russell. It will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on May 5th, 2017.
