When Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters this summer, fans will finally learn the true identity of Peter Quill’s father: Ego the Living Planet. Played by Kurt Russell, audiences have been eagerly awaiting the answers regarding the whereabouts of Star-Lords father. Now, Empire Magazine has released three brand new photos from the film that include a new look at Kurt Russell as Ego.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Directed by James Gunn, the film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Kurt Russell.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released in theaters on May 5, 2017.
