Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn recently revealed which role he would have had David Bowie play if he would have had a cameo in the film.

“I wanted David Bowie to play a member of Yondu’s original crew.”

Admittedly, it would have been fun to see Bowie as a part of Yondu’s crew and to have watched him be a part of the action in the film.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Directed by James Gunn, the film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released digitally in HD, 4K Ultra HD, and Disney Movies Anywhere on August 8 followed by a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on August 22.

The Guardians will next be seen in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War.
