Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2 got a big boost out of the Super Bowl last night as Marvel’s space opera sequel dominated social media feeds.

According to Variety, the latest installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe unquestionably took the online world by storm:

Disney-Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Super Bowl ad was the most popular trailer of the game. The commercial was out of this world, generating 47,800 new conversations, according to media-measurement firm comScore and its PreAct service.

Aside from Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2, some of last night’s other big winners were Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales with 25,200 conversations, Transformers: The Last Knight with 19,700 conversations, The Fate Of The Furious with 16,300 conversations, and Logan with 10,200 conversations. The other movies that were previewed received more moderate boosts in attention, with Baywatch creating 7,800 conversations, Ghost In The Shell creating 5,600 conversations, and Life creating 5,000 conversations. In any case, Disney should rest easy knowing that the two big movies that they advertised dominated online discussion.
