New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Details Revealed At SDCC

The Marvel Studios Comic-Con panel in San Diego is over and while we didn’t get to see any footage from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, there were still plenty of cool reveals about the highly anticipated movie. There’s a lot of new information, but we’ve rounded up some of the most important reveals in the list below.

  • Kurt Russell is playing Ego, Star-Lord’s father.
  • Yes, Ego has a penis. This version of the character is some sort of humanoid.
  • Elizabeth Debicki is playing Ayesha a.k.a Kismet. 
  • The sequel picks up a few months after the events of the first movie.
  • Yondu has a fin in the sequel.
  • Nebula has a much bigger role in this movie.
  • Mantis spent her life with Ego before meeting the Guardians.
  • Sylvester Stallone is definitely in the movie. However, details about his character are being kept under wraps.
  • Chris Sullivan is playing a character named Taserface.
  • Benicio del Toro is returning to the role of the Collector for a theme park. You can find more details about that here.
  • Drax is learning about metaphors.
  • The first two tracks from Awesome Mix Volume 2 may have been revealed: Come A Little Bit Closer by Jay and the Americans, and The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.
