Not much is known about the still untitled Avengers 4. Is it a direct sequel to Avengers: Infinity War? Most likely. Is that confirmed for a fact? No. But we are learning bits and pieces about the last Marvel Phase 3 film, ranging from photos of Chris Evans and Brie Larson arriving on set or Sebastian Stan confirming Bucky’s return. Now, Gwyneth Paltrow has seemingly dropped a new tidbit about James “Rhodey” Rhodes, otherwise known as War Machine.
He’ll be back.
Paltrow, who appeared in all three Iron Man films, the first Avengers and then disappeared until the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about her new business ventures. During the conversation, she not only confirmed she will appear in the fourth Avengers film, but so will War Machine, played by House of Lies, Don Cheadle.
“I went to Atlanta to do Avengers 4, so I’m in and out for that, and it’s weird to go back and forth. We’re growing fast, and balls are dropping all the time. But honestly, I was on set and thought, ‘You sit here for two hours sipping tea, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle are making me laugh hysterically — why the hell did I give this up?'”
Cheadle’s return isn’t really that big of a shocker since it sounds like most of the Avengers are returning, but it does sound like a confirmation to us. We last saw “Rhodey” trying to gain his legs back after a devastating crash to earth in Captain America: Civil War. We don’t know if he will suit up, but he most likely will when Cap finally holds Moljner and says, “Avengers Assemble!” Okay, that was wishful thinking there.
Avengers 4 is currently filming in Atlanta and is scheduled to be released on May 3, 2019. As we learn more at Heroic Hollywood, you can be sure we will share it with you.
Top 5 Moments From D23’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Sneak Peek
Disney broke the internet on Saturday when they showed the first footage from Avengers: Infinity War at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. Lucky for all you guys, I was in the room and made a mental list of all the best moments from the teaser. While the movie only just reached the production half-way mark, the footage director Joe Russo showed to the audience still included some epic moments.
It wasn’t a trailer per se — more so just a compilation of random moments designed to excite the audience. Whatever you want to call it, it did a great job of expressing how emotionally charged this movie will be. Remember, this is the conclusion of nearly ten years worth of stories, so expect some big action and tear jerking moments as Marvel Studios starts to shift towards Phase 4 and a new game plan.
