Hailee Steinfeld has revealed whether or not her Hawkeye character Kate Bishop survived Thanos’ snap.

With every new character Marvel introduces, one question is always asked: did they survive Thanos’ snap? It’s an event that has had huge ramifications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it’s something that characters from the franchise are still reeling over. While we know the six original Avengers survived Thanos’ snap, a handful didn’t like Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and Black Panther. With the first two episodes of Hawkeye out, many have been wondering if Clint Barton’s protege/super-fan survived the snap or not.

In an interview with The Wrap, Hailee Steinfeld was asked if Kate Bishop was whisked away into the ether by Thanos. Steinfeld revealed that her Hawkeye character wasn’t snapped away, and potentially hinted at a flashback of Bishop.

“No, I believe that we see her survive and we see, you know, loss there as well. And that didn’t happen to her.”

Hailee Steinfeld’s comments imply that we’ll see a flashback of Kate Bishop surviving Thanos’ snap, which would definitely be interesting. Bishop has been around for two of the major events world-ending events in the MCU: the battle of New York and Thanos’ snap. Seeing as the show opened with her witnessing the battle of New York from her penthouse, it isn’t out of the question to see her reeling from the snap as a young teenager.

here’s the synopsis for Hawkeye:

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh is expected to return in her Black Widow role.

New episodes of Hawkeye debut every Wednesday, exclusively on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the series, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
