Hailee Steinfeld indicated that she might not be in Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye series after all.
Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 plans include a handful of series for the Disney Plus streaming service, one of which will center on Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye. In September, it was reported that Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld had been offered the role of Kate Bishop, a character from the comics who becomes the first woman to take on the Hawkeye mantle.
However, Hailee Steinfeld cast doubt on her involvement with Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye series during an interview with RadioTimes. When asked if she was preparing to make her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hailee Steinfeld hinted that she may not necessarily join the Hawkeye series and that it could take some time before she knows for sure:
“That’s not something that’s necessarily happening. […] We’re going to wait and find out, I guess.”
Unfortunately, Hailee Steinfeld did not divulge any details on why she is uncertain about her future with Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye series. Would you like to see Hailee Steinfeld play Kate Bishop in Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to hear what the future holds for Hailee Steinfeld!
Full details on Hawkeye are currently under wraps, though the Disney Plus series will follow Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton as he prepares to pass the mantle to Kate Bishop. In the comics, Kate Bishop is the third character and first woman to assume to the Hawkeye name.
Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is just one of the many projects Marvel Studios is developing for Disney Plus. These projects include The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.
Hawkeye is currently scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in Fall 2021.
