Harley Quinn Introduction Teased In New ‘Gotham’ Image

Gotham Harley Quinn

A new photo posted by actress Francesca Root-Dodson teases the possible arrival of Harley Quinn in the series Gotham.

The final season of Gotham is on the horizon and it’s planning on bringing plenty of iconic characters to the series. Bane is set to make an appearance, and although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s been strongly teased that Gotham‘s version of the Joker and Harley Quinn will also be making an appearance.

The series has had its version of the Joker played by Cameron Monaghan, but he’s less of a Joker interpretation and more of a Joker-ish character that hasn’t received the official moniker just yet. In fact, he’s simply been known as Jerome during his time on the series.  It’s also likely that the character Ecco (Francesca Root-Dodson) won’t be officially referred to as Harley Quinn but as you can see in the post below, via the actress’ Instagram page, Ecco will be getting a major make-over that pretty closely resembles Harley Quinn.

Although the tease is very enticing for fans who have been wanting to see Joker and Harley appear before Gotham ends, showrunner John Stephens confirmed in an interview last year that Harley Quinn would not be appearing on the series. That was over a year ago, so anything could have changed between now and then, but fans will have to wait for the return of the Fox series to have all of their questions regarding the final season of Gotham answered.

At one point, fans thought that Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) would become Jerome’s Harley, but that never came to fruition. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Gotham as soon as more information becomes available. Would you like to see Ecco and Jerome finally earn the titles of Harley Quinn and Joker or would you prefer to have them keep their current names? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Gotham currently airs on Fox and stars Ben McKenzie, Morena Baccarin, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Cory Michael Smith, Donal Logue, Chris Chalk, Erin Richards, Jessica Lucas, Nathan Darrow, Michelle Veintimilla, and Cameron Monaghan.

The fifth and final season is currently filming now and will air on FOX.
