Many fans around the world are mourning the death of Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher, who died this morning at the age of 60.
More and more messages from Fisher’s close friends and fans continue to pour in following the tragic news. Now, Carrie Fisher’s Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford has shared the following statement:
“Carrie was one-of-a-kind…brilliant, original. Funny and emotionally fearless. She lived her life, bravely…My thoughts are with her daughter Billie, her Mother Debbie, her brother Todd, and her many friends. We will all miss her.”
The actress recently suffered a heart attack while on board a flight from London heading to Los Angeles. She had been on a tour promoting her new book, “The Princess Diarist.”
According to TMZ, Carrie Fisher went into cardiac arrest and people were able to administer CPR after flight attendants asked if there were any medical personnel on board. An EMT was on the flight and came up to the first class area to assist with life-saving precautions. She was reportedly in stable condition over the next few days, but passed away this morning.
Fisher was most recently seen returning to the role of Princess Leia Organa in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Her character will also appear in Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII, which wrapped back in July and hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
