Following Marvel’s CinemaCon presentation, Entertainment Weekly has released two new images from Captain America: Brave New World.
The first Captain America: Brave New World image offers a look at Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, not in his Captain America suit but in civilian attire, holding his iconic shield. The second image marks Harrison Ford’s debut as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who is now portrayed as the President of the United States in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In this photo, Ford steps into the role originally played by the late William Hurt, during a meeting with Wilson.
In the Captain America: Brave New World footage shown at CinemaCon, Thunderbolt Ross commends Sam Wilson’s Captain America for his heroism and requests his help to rebuild the Avengers. Ross makes it clear that he’s not a fan of heroes but acknowledges the contributions of the new Captain America. Another clip shown involves a ceremonial event where Sam is being honored by Ross before they’re attacked by sleeper agents.
