Joker: Folie à Deux has recruited rising actor Harry Lawtey.

Harry Lawtey has signed on to join the cast of the Warner Bros. production Joker: Folie à Deux, as reported by Deadline. The British actor is best known for his work in the HBO series Industry. His acting credits also include the PBS miniseries Magpie Murders and 2016 crime thriller City of Tiny Lights.

Plot details for Joker: Folie à Deux are being kept under wraps, but a significant portion of the film is expected to take place within Arkham Asylum, an iconic DC Comics location. The identity of Harry Lawtey’s Folie à Deux character is also a mystery, but Deadline hears that his role will be “a big one.”

Who else is attached to the Joker sequel?

Joaquin Phoenix is reprising his role as Arthur Fleck for the upcoming Joker sequel, with Lady Gaga joining him as Harley Quinn. The film’s cast also features Brendan Gleeson, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener and Jacob Lofland

Todd Phillips, who helmed the first Joker movie, is returning to the director’s chair for Folie à Deux, working from a script he co-wrote alongside Scott Silver. Production is expected to begin this December for a October 2024 release.
