Newly revealed concept art from Marvel’s Hawkeye series on Disney Plus showcases alternate designs for Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Pizza Dog.

Hawkeye saw the Avengers’ original archer, Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton, come out of retirement (yet again) as Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop stepped onto the scene to become his sharp-shooting protégé. The pair were also joined by the show-stealing Lucky the Pizza Dog.

Hawkeye concept artist Wesley Burt recently took to Instagram to share some early designs for the Disney Plus MCU series, including alternate looks for Clint, Kate and Lucky.

Marvel’s Streetwise Archers

The Hawkeye concept art shared by Wes Burt shows Jeremy Renner’s Clint and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate looking suitably beat-up and dressed down. It also reveals an early idea for Lucky was to have him as a scruffy stray, rather than the one-eyed labrador he ended up being.

In addition to a piece showing alternate looks for the series’ leads was an early concept for Kate Bishop’s homemade suit, which wasn’t too different from the look the Disney Plus series ended up using. Another piece shows some keyframe art for the scene with Clint and Kate riding the subway.

Check out Wesley Burt’s concept art for Hawkeye below:

Burt cites Matt Fraction and David Aja as his influences in creating these designs, with Hawkeye drawing heavily on this pair’s Marvel comic run. These designs and the final show certainly captured the spirit of Fraction’s and Aja’s vision for the two Hawkeyes. Hopefully, their influence will continue to be felt as Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop continues her journey in the MCU.

Here is the synopsis for Hawkeye:

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox, Florence Pugh, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. Kevin Feige served as an executive producer on the series.

Hawkeye is available to stream on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding Echo and future MCU projects, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
