Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner broke down the idiosyncrasies of Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.
Entertainment Weekly debuted the first look at Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series on Thursday by sharing an image of Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton. The image saw Bishop in the middle of archery training, speaking to her reluctant mentor Barton. It was also revealed that the series was debuting in late November, making it a perfect show to binge-watch over the holidays. Details are slim on the series apart from the fact that it will be set after Avengers: Endgame. However, Renner might have just revealed some key details regarding Bishop that might just give an idea of what the series will be about.
Speaking with the outlet, Renner revealed that Bishop is a “fangirl” of Hawkeye. Renner also revealed that Bishop brings problems into Clint’s life, implying that the central premise will be the Avengers hero protecting and training the young would-be Hawkeye from baddies. It’s a tried and tested premise, seen in the likes of The Last of Us and The Walking Dead, but of course, this is just speculation based on the quick tease Renner gave the outlet.
“[Kate is] a 22-year-old kid and she’s a big Hawkeye fan. She has a wonderfully annoying and equally charming manner about her, because she’s such a fangirl of Hawkeye. The relationship grows from that, but the biggest problem for Clint is Kate Bishop and the onslaught of problems that she brings into his life.”
