HBO Max Announces ‘Doom Patrol’ Season 2 Release Date

HBO Max announced when the second season of DC Universe’s Doom Patrol will arrive on the new streaming service.

With HBO Max developing a number of DC live action projects, the new streaming service recently announced the release date of Doom Patrol season two. The series originally debuted on DC Universe, but there’s been major concerns about the app following the imminent arrival of HBO Max. There were rumors DC Universe would get folded into a sub-section of the new service, but it will stand on its own two feet for the moment.

HBO Max recently announced that Doom Patrol season two will arrive on June 25, following the bizarre ending of the first season. The finale saw the team battle Alan Tudyk’s Mr. Nobody who had control over Ezekiel, a giant cockroach, and Mr. Whiskers, a giant rat. It also saw the introduction of Dorothy Spinner, the Chief’s daughter.

Are you excited to see the series return on HBO Max? What do you want from the second season? Sound off in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for the first season of Doom Patrol:

DOOM PATROL is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities—but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence—and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of TITANS, DOOM PATROL will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

The series stars Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele/Robotman, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Joivan Wade as Victor Stone/Cyborg and Timothy Dalton as Dr. Niles Caulder/The Chief.
