The upcoming Green Lantern series from HBO Max will feature two Green Lanterns and the villain Sinestro.

During the Television Critics Association press tour, Sarah Aubrey, head of HBO Max originals, gave us a few clues as to what to expect from the upcoming Green Lantern series. According to Aubrey, the upcoming Green Lantern HBO series “will span several decades and focus on the origin stories of two major Green Lanterns on Earth.”. In addition, the villain Sinestro would be appearing and that they were in the “early stages of talking to him about.”

Sinestro is, of course, best known as one of the Green Lantern’s greatest enemies. Originally a Green Lantern himself, Sinestro was corrupted by the powers of the Yellow Ring and eventually formed his own group of Lanterns based around it which eventually became associated with the emotion of Fear. It is currently unknown what role Sinestro will play in the upcoming HBO Green Lantern series.

The upcoming Green Lantern series is currently being worked on by Arrowverse veteran Greg Berlanti. Berlanti is perhaps best known as the co-creator of the CW’s Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. It is unknown, however, if the upcoming Green Lantern series from HBO Max will have any connection to the Arrowverse.

What do you all make of this news? Are you glad to hear that HBO Max will be making a Green Lantern series? What do you make of the inclusion of Sinestro? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
