‘Hellboy’ Reboot Casts ‘Stranger Things’ Star David Harbour

Hellboy

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola has announced a new R-rated Hellboy reboot is in development with Neil Marshall (Game Of Thrones, The Descent) in negotiations to direct and Stranger Things star David Harbour in talks to star as Hellboy.

Created by Mignola in 1993 and published by Dark Horse Comics, the demonic hero who became the world’s greatest paranormal investigator while combating occult threats for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense first received a big screen adaptation from visionary director Guillermo Del Toro in 2004 which starred Ron Perlman as Hellboy. The film itself was successful enough to get a sequel but quickly lost steam earning less than its production budget at the domestic box office.

Fans have hoped Del Toro and Perlman would return for a third installment in the franchise but the director confirmed in February that the project would never come to fruition.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Millennium is in negotiations produce the reboot with Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin. Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment is also attached to produce.

So what do you think? Are you excited for Neil Marshall to take the helm? Do you think Harbour will make for a good Hellboy? Let us know in the comments below.
