Henry Cavill is a pretty huge guy, but he may still be a little jealous of Green Lantern’s physique. Cavill has been steadily recovering from a knee injury that he suffered late last year and, in a photo posted to Instagram, Cavill notes his progress. There’s nothing too out of the ordinary until the last sentence:
Nothing funny to post here, it’s deadly serious because I’ve got to make sure that I’m bigger than Green Lantern….Wait whaaat?
“Wait whaaat?” Yep, I think that’s an accurate response as to what many people will think of this little tease. Look at the post below:
Since I came off the ol knee injury I’ve been steadily increasing my training work load. I know it’s irritating when people say this but it genuinely does feel so good to be back in it. I’m not destroying myself every day. Just working towards improvement by pushing hard enough to elicit change. Nothing funny to post here, it’s deadly serious because I’ve got to make sure that I’m bigger than Green Lantern….Wait whaaat?
It’s not clear whether Cavill is just trolling with fans or if he really does know something about the casting of Green Lantern. One has to assume that as the DCEU’s frontman he would at least know the short list for actors being considered, if not the final decision, but either way, he certainly likes to play with the emotions of his loyal followers. Let’s not forget this post from last month either…
With these two teases, I think it’s a little safe to believe that we may get an official casting soon, but I could be way off. Regardless, it will take a very big guy to challenge Henry Cavill’s musculature. Then again, with Ben Affleck and Jason Mamoa in the Justice League, Cavill might have to work a little harder.
There has been no mention of Green Lantern appearing in Justice League yet, but a popular consensus is that he may show up in one of the last scenes and turn the tide against Darkseid’s minions.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League hits theaters November 17, 2017. Keep checking Heroic Hollywood for any more information on Justice League, Green Lantern and all other DCEU movies.
