A digital artist on Instagram has created an awesome photo that show’s Henry Cavill donning Brandon Routh’s Superman Returns costume.
Back in 2006, Brandon Routh made his debut as the Last Son of Krypton in Superman Returns from director Bryan Singer. But unfortunately, audiences criticized Superman Returns for its similarities to Richard Donner’s 1987 Superman film, turning out to be Brandon Routh’s first and final outing as the DC superhero.
It was another seven years before Henry Cavill was introduced as the next version of Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. But thanks to digital artist Jakub Masłowski, we can see what Henry Cavill would have looked like in the brighter costume worn by Brandon Routh in Superman Returns.

Henry Cavill’s future as Superman remains up in the air, with Warner Bros. reportedly planning to cast the character aside for now. Instead, Henry Cavill will is trading in his Superman suit for the lead role in Netflix’s The Witcher. Based on the fantasy series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher will follow Henry Cavill as the monster slayer for hire named Geralt of Rivia.
However, Warner Bros. and DC currently developing several other films. These projects include The Batman, The Flash standalone film, Black Adam, Shazam 2, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
