Henry Cavill offered another ambiguous response regarding his future as Superman in the DC Extended Universe.
While reports of contentious contract negotiations with Warner Bros. have left fans concerned about Henry Cavill’s future as Superman, the actor allegedly expressed his desire to continue playing the role during a conversation with a fan at San Diego Comic-Con. Now, Henry Cavill has offered another cryptic response on the subject when asked about his future as Superman during an interview with the Chinese site Mtime.
During the conversation, Henry Cavill responded to the question of whether or not he is still Superman by stating, “everyone is always Superman” before pointing to his heart and saying “I’m the one here.” Later, Henry Cavill was more direct, telling the interviewer that he would reprise the role of Superman if invited.

Chinese Mtime talked with Henry Cavill in SDCC:
Mtime – Last question: Are U still Superman?
HC – (paused and smiled) Am I? Everyone is always superman. I'm the one——Here(pointed at his heart)
Mtime – I mean, would you play him again?

Last year, Henry Cavill dropped out of talks to return as Superman for a cameo in the Shazam! movie, though it was still able to include the Man of Steel by refraining from showing the character’s head in the frame during his brief appearance. Henry Cavill’s future as Superman has come into question amid rumors suggesting that Warner Bros. will be focusing on introducing Supergirl in the DCEU and shelving Superman as a result. 22 Jump Street writer Oren Uziel is writing the script for the Supergirl film, which will be an origin story for Kara Zor-El.
Henry Cavill was last seen as Superman in Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news on the future of the DC Extended Universe!
